year in a row, Chela has been nominated for "Best Female DJ"
of 2007 by the Southern Entertainment Awards. This is a big look
and once again thanks to everyone who has supported and definitely
take the time to get your votes in! We appreciate it! This March Chela
embarked on a nation-wide mission to awaken young folks to take
a stand against an unjust, illegal and immoral war in Iraq. The
Make Hip Hop Not War Tour put on by the Hip Hop Caucus traversed
the country in a month-long, 17 city tour working with artists such
as Immortal Technique, Mystic, Akir, Choklate, Grime, Hasan Salaam,
Staci Epps, A Alikes, ReadNex Poetry Squad, and collaborating with
politicians including Congressman John Lewis, Congresswoman Sheila
Jackson-Lee and Congressman Raul Grijalva and other leaders doing
shows, rallys, teach-ins and media outreach. In June Chela
was instrumental organized a delegation to attend the progressive
political "Take Back America" Conference, helping to organize
two panels and a show at the 930 Club, involving such artists and
activists as dead prez, Mystic, Wise Intelligent, J.Period, Davey
D, Billy Wimsatt, Grime, AKIR, Hassan Salam, ReadNext Poetry Squad,
and organizations such as the National Hip Hop Political Convention,
Hip Hop Congress, the Zulu Nation, League of Independent Voters,
Lyrics to Go, and more. Who does Chuck
